Denise Waller’s brave act of
generosity takes ‘giving
of yourself’ to a new level

To say that CVS pharmacy technician Denise Waller is a giving person is an understatement. While her role at the CVS pharmacy in Galax, Va., enables her to fill prescriptions and offer emotional support to her ill patients, it is her brave act of generosity toward one CVS colleague that makes Waller truly unique.

Waller has been working at CVS for about three years, a job she landed with the help of assistant manager, Jennifer Utt. Waller had known Utt for about 14 years at the time; Utt’s mother used to baby-sit for Waller’s children when Jennifer was just a child herself. You could say that Waller knew Utt pretty well. But
